According to multiple sources, the Colts are planning to work out several free-agent kickers today. As of Monday night, no decision had been made on the status of Adam Vinatieri, but the team wants to get a look at what their options are in case they decide to make a change. Vinatieri missed an extra point in the Colts 16-12 loss to the Dolphins on Sunday. This season he's missed five field goals and six extra points - Dan Graziano

Frank Reich on Adam Vinatieri, who has missed 11 kicks and cost the Colts a couple games this season:“I'll give the same answer, it's all being evaluated every week, especially this week." Reich and GM Chris Ballard talked last night and they plan to talk again about the roster this evening.

The Colts are without starting quarterback Jacoby Brissett and three of their top receivers, including T.Y. Hilton, but that's still no excuse for them to be down 10-0 to the struggling Miami Dolphins (1-7) at halftime. The Colts have a total of 108 yards on offense and quarterback Brian Hoyer, who is starting in place of Brissett, has thrown two interceptions and the defense is struggling to put any pressure on Dolphins quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick.

QB Jacoby Brissett has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Miami due to a sprained MCL. Veteran Brian Hoyer, who is 16-21 in his career as a starter, will start against the Dolphins (1-7). Chad Kelly, the nephew of Hall-of-Fame quarterback Jim Kelly, will be Hoyer's backup. The Colts (5-3) will now officially be without Brissett and receiver T.Y. Hilton (calf) against the struggling Dolphins.

A couple of very intriguing moves made by the Colts on Saturday. They elevated QB Chad Kelly from the practice squad, which means Jacoby Brissett (knee) may not play vs. Miami on Sunday. Brian Hoyer will start if that's the case. Coach Frank Reich called Brissett a game-time decision. The Colts also waived WR Deon Cain, who struggled while returning from a torn ACL during his rookie season in 2018.

Colts QB Jacoy Brissett (knee) took another positive step to potentially playing in Sunday's game against Miami by being a limited participant in practice for the second straight day Thursday. S Malik Hooker (knee) was a full participant after not practicing Wednesday. CB Pierre Desir (hamstring) and Quincy Wilson (shoulder) did not practice Thursday.

Colts TE Eric Ebron recently went to coach Frank Reich's office and jokingly “kicked that door in” to meet him about his decreased role in the offense. Ebron only has 31 targets in eight games after having 110 targets in 16 games last season. "Put your boy in the game and good things gonna happen,” Ebron said. “We know that. We've had our series of talks. This organization is really good when it comes to hearing its players and understand their players and working with them."

QB Jacoby Brissett (knee) and CB Pierre Desir (hamstring) were limited participants in practice Wednesday. A player to keep an eye on - outside of Brissett - is S Malik Hooker, who did not practice due to a knee injury.

Colts WR T.Y. Hilton (calf) will not practice Wednesday. Coach Frank Reich said it's unlikely that Hilton will play against Miami, but he has not been officially ruled out yet. “I don't ever want to count him out until we absolutely have to," Reich said.

A possible positive sign for the Colts: Coach Frank Reich said quarterback Jacoby Brissett (knee) will be a limited participant in practice Wednesday. Reich said it's not a "slam dunk," though, that Brissett plays Sunday against the Dolphins
