Final totals from the Ron RIvera yard sale with proceeds going to the Humane Society of Charlotte are in. They raised $30,237 and had approximately 3,000 people show up.

Former Panthers coach Ron Rivera and his wife Stephanie came up with the idea to have a yard sale of all his former Carolina gear (about 1,000 items in all) to benefit one of their favorite charities - the Humane Society of Charlotte. A long line of about 1,000 showed their support of the Rivera's and their cause. Some fans drove as much as five hours to be there.

Tepper: Cam's Panthers' future depends on health

While quarterback Cam Newton has said he "absolutely" will return to the Carolina Panthers in 2020, owner David Tepper made it clear again Tuesday that the team won't decide on Newton's future before knowing that he has recovered from foot surgery.

Cam Newton said during Super Bowl week he absolutely would be back with the Panthers. Owner David Tepper's response: ‘'Is he healthy? Tell me that and then we can talk.''

The foundation of Panthers owner David Tepper and other charitable groups are donating a $120,000 mid-year boost to elementary school students and teachers through Classroom Central. The gift will provide new school supplies to 800 elementary classrooms in 17 Title I Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Here is Tepper making the announcement.

The Panthers signed exclusive rights free agent kicker Joey Slye to a one-year deal. What that means for Graham Gano, who spent last season on injured reserve, remains to be seen. Gano's deal runs through 2021. He has a $4,337,500 salary cap figure in 2020.

The Panthers signed another exclusive rights free agent, defensive back Cole Luke. He played in eight games in 2019 after being signed from the practice squad. He had two tackles.

Running back Reggie Bonnafon, scheduled to become an exclusive rights free agent, signed a one-year deal with the Panthers. Bonnafon this past season rushed 16 times for 116 yards and his first career touchdown, a 59-yarder against Jacksonville, as Christian McCaffrey's backup. He also had six catches for 57 yards.

Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey named the 2019 Fantasy Player of the Year after becoming the third player in NFL history to have 1,000 yards rushing and receiving in the season.
