Bills GM Brandon Beane said in an official team Facebook Live interview Thursday afternoon there has been a "moderate" amount of trade discussions with other teams. "A lot of it is standard," he said. "A lot of it is teams calling either me or [assistant GM] Joe [Schoen] or maybe [coach] Sean [McDermott], just checking in, ‘Hey, we may have an interest in coming up to 22 if you're there,' or coming off this pick or going back. ‘If you guys are at 12 and you want to come up, we might be interested or not, depending on who's on the board.' But it's really not a lot of, ‘We're ready to do a move.' It's, ‘We may be depending on what's on the board' type scenarios."

If Bills stay put at No. 12, who do they draft?

A look at the quarterbacks and non-quarterbacks, the likely and unlikely players to be available when the Bills make the first of two 1st-round picks.

Asked Wednesday by the NFL Network where she will be draft night, Bills owner Kim Pegula said, "I will be in Buffalo in the war room. At the big table."

Asked Wednesday on the NFL Network if it is important for her to "sign off" on a quarterback drafted, Bills owner Kim Pegula said, "I wouldn't say sign off on, but as certainly someone who is going to be representing our team, we like to just get to know them as much as we can before, during, after. So I think that's something that we would definitely want to be a part of and be in the conversation with, with our head coach."

Bills co-owner Kim Pegula was asked Wednesday on the NFL Network how involved she and her husband, Terry Pegula, are in the vetting and selection process of draft picks. Kim Pegula: "I'd like to think really involved, but not really. Especially this year because we have the picks that we do and kind of the needs that we have -- maybe at quarterback -- so those are important positions. My husband and I, we have been on trips to see players and we have been talking with our GM Brandon Beane and Coach McDermott nonstop, and the scouts, things like that. But you know what? We don't watch film. We're not there at all the games. I personally don't know what I'm watching anyways in terms of that. So we let them really make the decisions, but we want to be part of the conversation."

As part of what he called his "transition" into broadcasting, Bills OLB Lorenzo Alexander, 34, offered insight Tuesday into Buffalo's draft needs that is not typically given by less experienced NFL players. He pointed to quarterback, offensive line and linebacker. As for offensive line, Alexander said, "Because you can have an All-Pro quarterback back there, but if you can't keep him upright, it really doesn't matter. I think a guy like David Carr went No. 1 overall [in 2002] but he had a lackluster career because he got hit a lot early in his years."

Asked Tuesday about the importance of arm strength when playing in cold-weather cities, Bills QB AJ McCarron said, "I think a lot of people get sold on big arms" and noted instead the importance of accuracy and timing.

The Bills' presumptive starter unless they draft a quarterback, AJ McCarron said Tuesday he isn't concerned with the "bridge" quarterback label often applied to him.

Bills OLB Lorenzo Alexander said Monday both 2017 sixth-round pick Tanner Vallejo and 2018 free-agent signing Julian Stanford are “penciled in” at Mike linebacker as Bills approach the draft. Buffalo lost starting MLB Preston Brown as a free agent to the Bengals this offseason. Alexander noted he could eventually be part of that mix, but a lot could happen before training camp.

The Bills' two elder statesmen: OLB Lorenzo Alexander crashes DT Kyle Williams' news conference Tuesday. Both are 34, although Williams noted Alexander is "the oldest guy" on the team — by 11 days.

The Bills on Tuesday waived defensive end Cap Capi. He saw playing time late last season but was buried on the depth chart after the signings of Trent Murphy, Terrence Fede and Owa Odighizuwa this offseason.

Asked about the top quarterbacks in the draft, Bills general manager Brandon Beane said they have met with each and, "they are all great young men, and there's a reason why they're being talked about."

Bills coach Sean McDermott said Monday he is looking for good football players on and off the field, and sometimes there is a "temptation" to take players who don't have their act together off the field.

Bills general manager Brandon Beane said Monday that if the team does not address its starting middle linebacker vacancy in the draft, then they will find a solution later in the offseason. "We don't play meaningful football until September," Beane noted.

Bills general manager Brandon Beane said Monday, "I know everybody assumes we're trading up. Even if I wanted to trade up -- I know the guy and what it takes -- it takes a partner to be able to move up."

Mike Rodak ESPN Staff Writer

Bills coach Sean McDermott said Monday that wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin "looks like he's ready to go" after post-season knee surgery. As far as Benjamin's contract, which expires after this season, Beane said his focus remains "on the draft" and would not address it.

Mike Rodak ESPN Staff Writer

Bills coach Sean McDermott said Monday the team is "satisfied" with Zay Jones after speaking to him recently. "We all agree we need to move forward, and I'm excited about the future for Zay," McDermott said.

Mike Rodak ESPN Staff Writer

Bills general manager Brandon Beane said Monday he would like to improve on a 9-win season in 2017, "but it doesn't always work that way." Beane's answer was in response to a question about whether the Bills might "take a step back" in 2018.

Mike Rodak ESPN Staff Writer

Asked about Josh Allen's completion percentage, Bills general manager Brandon Beane said Monday he did not want to get into detail about specific players because "that is a dangerous road." He did say there "is a lot that goes into evaluating college quarterbacks," adding there is "no one factor" that decides the evaluation.
