Former Cardinals coach Bruce Arians issued a statement on Monday night after Steve Wilks was chosen as his successor: "We built a strong Cardinals legacy over the last 5 years. I wish Steve Wilks the best of luck. I'm disappointed that Bettch or Keith didn't get the Cardinals position. They are both ready. I truly believe they will be an asset to any football organization. Trust. Loyalty. Respect."

The Cardinals officially announce Steve Wilks as their head coach through a press release. Wilks has agreed to terms on a four-year contract with a team option for a fifth. Arizona will have a press conference Tuesday to formally announce Wilks.

"He is my story pretty much in a coach's version. That sums up what he is perfectly, and his star is about to become a contagious combustible flame for those guys. He's a leader of men: not boys, men. Trust there's a difference there, which enhances and drives them to excel; a General to whom I would follow to the end. I'm pretty sure most know this. I've been pretty adamant about him. Hell, Cardinals got a steal!" -- Washington cornerback Josh Norman to ESPN's Vaughn McClure on new Cardinals head coach Steve Wilks. Norman played for Wilks from 2012 to 2015.

Cardinals defensive coordinator James Bettcher has been getting interest from other teams to be their defensive coordinator. No guarantee he'll return to Arizona under Wilks.

The Cardinals will make Carolina Panthers defensive coordinator Steve Wilks their next head coach, a league source confirmed to ESPN on Monday

For what it's worth, Arizona defensive coordinator James Bettcher hasn't been invited to interview a second time by the Cardinals, but people close to the search have told me it may not matter because the franchise has seen plenty of Bettcher over the last five years.

Josh Weinfuss ESPN Staff Writer

According to a source, it's uncertain if Mike McCoy is still in play to be James Bettcher's offensive coordinator, should Bettcher be hired as the Cardinals' head coach. A lot will depend on how long the Cardinals' search lasts.

Bruce Arians seeking TV role after retirement

Bruce Arians, who retired from coaching on Jan. 1, has said he'd be interested in television or radio to stay connected to football -- including replacing Jon Gruden on Monday Night Football.

Josh Weinfuss ESPN Staff Writer

Former Cardinals coach Bruce Arians told me he's interested in being the color analyst for "Monday Night Football," the role formerly held by Jon Gruden, who left ESPN earlier this month to become the head coach of the Oakland Raiders: "Oh gosh, I'd be interested. I don't think they're interested in me. But that would be like the dream job, especially working with someone as good as Sean (McDonough). That'd be fun. That's obviously a home run."

Josh Weinfuss ESPN Staff Writer

Former Cardinals coach Bruce Arians told me today he'd like to go into broadcasting, either on TV or radio, in the next phase of his life. He's interviewed with Fox and the NFL Network, and has an interview with CBS coming up. He's interested in being in studio or in the booth, but will let the networks decide where he's a better fits. He said broadcasting is a way to stay connected to the game.

Falcons special teams coordinator Keith Armstrong's second interview with the Cardinals began early this morning and is continuing into the early afternoon, according to a source.

Vaughn McClure ESPN Staff Writer

Sources tell me Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin is targeting Arizona Cardinals wide receivers coach Darryl Drake for the same position. Would replace Richard Mann, who retired.

A source confirmed that Atlanta Falcons special teams coordinator Keith Armstrong will have a second interview with the Arizona Cardinals on Friday. NFL Network was first to report.
