The Nets' deal with guard Milton Doyle is for one year and partially guaranteed, per league sources. Doyle impressed the Nets during Summer League and has a strong shot to stick with the club, impressing scouts with his athleticism. Originally committed to Kansas, Doyle transferred to Loyola (Ill.), where he averaged 15.3 points and 4.4 assists per game and was named first-team All Missouri Valley Conference as a senior last season.

There are several landing spots that make sense for guard Archie Goodwin, who was released by the Nets on Friday. Among them: Milwaukee, Dallas, the Clippers and Lakers. All four teams conceivably have space to add a young player like Goodwin. In 12 games with the Nets, Goodwin's third team, he averaged 8 points, 2.3 rebounds and two assists in 15 minutes per game. His contract was non-guaranteed for the coming season. Goodwin could now be claimed by a team. If not, the four-year veteran will be an unrestricted free agent.

Brooklyn now with $5.1M in salary cap space (not including the Randy Foye cap hold) after the Archie Goodwin waiver. The contract for Goodwin would have increased from $0 to $200K in protection if not waived by mid-October. The Nets now have 13 guaranteed and 1 non-guaranteed contracts. Brooklyn still has the $4.3M room mid-level exception available.

Brooklyn is now $3.5M (or at the cap when you factor in the $3M Randy Foye hold) under the salary cap after the acquisition of Allen Crabbe. The contract of Crabbe is $19.3M, $18.5M and a player option of $18.5M in 2019-20. The Nets still project to have $18M in room next summer and could increase to $30M if Jeremy Lin opts-out of his $12.5M contract.
