Giannis Antetokounmpo: "So they told me you used to live in Milwaukee ..." Giannis and CC Sabathia spent much of this interaction discussing Milwaukee and how great the sports fans there were during Sabathia's post-trade run in 2008, and during the Bucks' run this year. This was part of a full afternoon at Yankee Stadium for Giannis, who hit off a tee in the Yankees' interior cage, and met a few of the Bronx Bombers.

New Orleans will not incur a cap hit on the Christian Wood $1.6M salary. Wood had $822K that would have been guaranteed if he was not waived by the first day of the regular season. Because Wood signed (originally in Milwaukee) a veteran minimum contract, the forward/center can be claimed by any team. The roster now has 13 guaranteed contracts and 2 partial/non-guaranteed players (Kenrich Williams and Jahlil Okafor).

J.R. Smith has officially been waived and will have a $1.45M cap over the next three seasons. Cleveland will receive a $555K set-off if Smith signs a $2.6M veteran minimum exception with another team. The per year cap hit would be reduced to $1.27M. The Cavaliers are now $2.85M below the luxury tax with 13 guaranteed contracts.

Starting in 2020-21, Philadelphia will make a $580M investment between four players: Joel Embiid, Tobias Harris, Al Horford and now Ben Simmons. The 76ers next season have $148M in salary between 11 players- $6M over the projected luxury tax threshold. Simmons will have a poison pill restriction in his contract as part of signing a rookie extension. For trade purposes, his $8.1M salary for 2019-20 would be used as outgoing salary and $29.6M (the average over 6 years) would count as incoming for the acquiring team.
