The deal sending Tommy Pham from the Tampa Bay Rays to the San Diego Padres is done, sources tell ESPN. Outfielder Hunter Renfroe and middle-infield prospect Xavier Edwards head back to the Rays. Padres will get another minor leaguer.

The San Diego Padres are deep into talks to acquire outfielder Tommy Pham, sources familiar with the negotiations tell ESPN. A prospect would go along with him to San Diego, and outfielder Hunter Renfroe and top prospect Xavier Edwards would be the return for Tampa Bay.

Padres deal Urias to Brewers, bring on Pomeranz

The Brewers have acquired Luis Urias and Eric Lauer from the Padres for Trent Grisham and Zach Davies. They also signed lefty reliever Drew Pomeranz to a four-year deal, sources said.

Tristan H. Cockcroft ESPN Senior Writer

Drew Pomeranz and Kirby Yates had 47.2% and 43.2% strikeout rates during the second half of 2019, the second- and fifth-best among qualified relievers. Heck of a back end of that Padres bullpen.

Left-handed reliever Drew Pomeranz and the San Diego Padres are in agreement on a deal, pending physical, sources confirm to ESPN. @Ken_Rosenthal had the agreement.

Tristan H. Cockcroft ESPN Senior Writer

Luis Urias is a solid pickup for the Brewers at that price, and he'll surely benefit from Miller Park's far more hitter-friendly confines. Since he'll probably shift to shortstop, he'll quickly become dual-eligible. I feel a lot better about his top-20 ranking; he's my 2B19.

Jeff Passan ESPN

A hot name in the relief market: Drew Pomeranz. After the Brewers dealt for him and moved him full-time to the bullpen, he was incredible: 26.1 IP, 45 Ks, 2.39 ERA. With a paucity of left-handed relievers available, he's going to get a multiyear deal at a strong AAV.
