Stackhouse in talks with Vanderbilt, sources say

Jerry Stackhouse, a former 18-year NBA player and now assistant coach with the Grizzlies, is negotiating a deal with Vanderbilt to become its head coach, sources confirmed.

Baylor coach Scott Drew said he received more text messages on Friday morning, after it was announced that his younger brother was out at Vanderbilt, than he did for beating Syracuse the night before. "He's blessed to have great friends, great family support, and he's got a great faith and he knows God has a different plan for him," Scott said of Bryce Drew. "As big brother, obviously, whatever I can do to help him, I'm going to do. ... He's a lot more powerful and has more wisdom than I do."
