Top-seeded Team Liquid pulled off a reverse sweep over five maps against Team SoloMid before emerging victorious 3-2 in the grand final of the North America LCS Spring Split playoffs Saturday at Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis.
TSM opened with wins in Games 1 and 2 before Liquid rallied to earn the win and the $100,000 first-place prize in the League of Legends competition as well as qualification for the 2019 Mid-Season Invitational.
"This feeling will never get old," Liquid posted on social media. Liquid has won three straight LCS titles.
Liquid's Yiliang "Doublelift" Peng was named MVP.
TSM earned $50,000 for their runner-up performance.
It was a much-anticipated showdown between TSM and Liquid, who notched a regular-season record of 14-4 that included two losses to TSM, making them the only team to go 2-0 vs. Liquid.
