Former junior welterweight titlist Maurice Hooker, who is moving up to welterweight in the wake of losing his title by knockout to Jose Ramirez in their July 27 unification fight, likely will return Dec. 14, co-promoter Dino Duva of Roc Nation Sports told ESPN on Wednesday. That is the date Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn, Hooker’s co-promoter, is targeting for a major card he hopes will be headlined by the super middleweight debut of Daniel Jacobs against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and also include a junior bantamweight world title unification fight between Juan Francisco Estrada and Kal Yafai.
