Heavyweight Magomedrasul Majidov, of Azerbaijan, a three-time world amateur champion, 2012 Olympic bronze medalist and 2016 Olympian, has signed with Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn and will make his professional debut Friday night (DAZN) on the undercard of the Devin Haney-Zaur Abdullaev fight at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York. Hearn announced the signing Tuesday. Majidov, who will face Ed Fountain in a six-rounder, defeated Anthony Joshua in the 2011 World Amateur Championships final and also won the bi-annual tournament in 2013 and 2017. Majidov is 32, a late start for a pro, but he said it's not an issue. “I will like to let everyone know don’t be fooled by my age," he said. "I’ll bring in entertainment with my style.”
