After his seventh round stoppage of Carmine Tommasone last weekend, it was hoped that WBO featherweight titlist, Oscar Valdez (25-0, 20 KOs) could return on March 23. But according to his manager Frank Espinoza, he developed some swelling in his right hand during that fight that will delay his return. ''The doctor gave him instructions to lay off for a couple of weeks. He'll rest up two weeks and he'll be back in the gym," said Espinoza, who hopes to see his client back in the ring by May or June.
