Promoter Frank Warren won the purse bid on Tuesday for the mandatory fight between featherweight world titleholder Josh Warrington, 28, who Warren promotes, and his British countryman Kid Galahad, 28, who is with rival promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Boxing. Warren bid $1.68 million to beat Hearn’s offer of $1.44 million. Warrington (28-0, 6 KOs), who will be making his second defense, is entitled to 65 percent of the winning bid ($1.092 million) with Galahad (26-0, 15 KOs) getting 35 percent ($588,000), according to IBF rules. The fight is mandated to take place within 90 days.
