New Mexico State ends 57-year bowl drought

Tyler Rogers passed for 451 yards and led a drive that brought New Mexico State back into the lead in the final minute in a 22-17 win over South Alabama on Saturday that made the Aggies eligible for their first bowl since 1960.

South Alabama coach Joey Jones resigns

Joey Jones will step down as coach of South Alabama after the season. His team 4-7 and in seventh place in the Sun Belt Conference. Jones was the first coach of the Jaguars football team, which began play in 2009.

Georgia Southern runs past South Alabama, 52-0

Wesley Fields and L.A. Ramsby each scored two touchdowns and Georgia Southern got its first win of the year, blasting South Alabama 52-0 Saturday to hand the Jaguars their first-ever shutout in the program's 101-game history.

South Alabama, Iowa lead the way on special teams

The Jaguars scored on an 83-yard return of a blocked field goal and never looked back, dominating in the third phase against Alabama A&M. Rounding out the list was Iowa, Rutgers and Washington, with Dante Pettis' record-tying eighth career punt-return TD setting the tone.
