Virginia Tech has signed coach Justin Fuente through the 2024 season and increased his assistant coach salary pool to $3.8 million for 2018. Fuente will earn $4 million in 2018 and will earn $5 million in 2024 (receiving bi-annual retention bonuses). VT would owe him $15 million if it fires him without cause before 2020, and $10 million before 2022. Fuente's buyout to leave goes starts at $5 million in 2018, drops to $1 million on Dec. 15, 2020, and $750,000 on Dec. 15, 2021.
