Rosier showing signs of maturing (1:40)

Andrea Adelson ESPN Staff Writer

Miami coach Mark Richt told reporters in South Florida why Malik Rosier got the nod as the starting QB over Evan Shirreffs, N'Kosi Perry and Cade Weldon: "He did stand out above the rest. It wasn't an unbelievable amount, but it was apparent that he was having the best camp. Evan did extremely well. I felt like there was enough of a difference to feel comfortable that Malik is the guy. The young guys…they got to know what to do and own it for a while before they can really compete at a high level at that position.”

Who's winning Florida recruiting?

The Sunshine State has, by far, the most ESPN 300 players. With the three in-state powers recruiting at an elite level, and countless out-of state threats, it'll be an epic race to signing day for the Gators, Noles and Hurricanes.

Richt calls Georgia 'family,' wishes team well

Miami's Mark Richt, who was the coach at Georgia from 2001 through 2015, posted a tweet Saturday sending best wishes to the Bulldogs and calling them "family."

Andrea Adelson ESPN Staff Writer

Miami coach Mark Richt was clearly unhappy with practice Friday, telling local reporters, "Everybody around here has to do their job, and right now, it's not happening. And I'm part of it. I'm leading it. It's on me. But I promise you, it's going to be on everybody else that needs to do what they're supposed to do." Asked whether struggles were common in fall camp, Richt said, "There's always days when I want to rip somebody, but today I'm ripping everybody, starting with me."
