Les Miles hired Les Koenning to be Kansas' offensive coordinator. Miles had to fill the vacancy after his initial hire, Chip Lindsey, took the head coaching job at Troy. Koenning has been an OC at several Power 5 schools including Mississippi State (2009-13), Texas A&M (2003-07) and Alabama (2001-02). He was the running backs coach at Southern Miss the last two seasons.

ESPN sources: Kansas offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey is expected to be named the next head coach at Troy. Football Scoop first reported the move. Lindsey joined the Kansas staff last month after spending the last two seasons as Auburn's offensive coordinator. He returns to his native Alabama, where he began his career as a longtime high school coach. Troy also considered Tulane offensive coordinator Will Hall, Louisiana-Lafayette defensive coordinator Ron Roberts and Ole Miss linebackers coach Jon Sumrall for the job.
