In the large men running fast department at the NFL scouting combine, Clemson's Dexter Lawrence, Alabama's Quinnen Williams and Clemson's Christian Wilkins showed plenty of athleticism in the early going in Sunday's workouts in Indianapolis. Lawrence, at 342 pounds, had an unofficial clocking of 5.05 in the 40-yard dash, Williams (303 pounds) had an unofficial 4.87 and Wilkins (315 pounds) had an unofficial 5.10. Just as a point of comparison Dontari Poe got plenty of attention for his 4.98 40-yard dash, at 346 pounds at the time, at the 2012 combine.

In a year most personnel executives in the league believe is a good one for defensive linemen in the NFL draft, Clemson defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence will be an interior player to keep an eye on in the first round next month. Lawrence measured in at 6-foot-4 1/2-inches tall, 342 pounds Friday morning at the scouting combine. He also had an 84-inch arm-span, which is exactly the profile many defensive line coaches want.
