East Carolina announces three graduate transfer additions from Power 5 programs: Duke quarterback Thomas Sirk, Clemson running back Tyshon Dye and Minnesota defensive lineman Gaelin Elmore. All three will be eligible this season.

ACC commissioner John Swofford said he expects the revenue gap between his conference and the Big Ten and SEC to close once the ACC Network launches in 2019. "That's why we're doing the channel," Swofford said. "We fully expect a gap with particularly the Big Ten and SEC here for a couple of years but that's the very reason we've signed to do what we're doing. We fully expect that gap will narrow considerably when we get the channel up and running."

Allow redshirt freshmen to play in bowl games? Why not? Clemson coach Dabo Swinney and ACC coaches are in favor of revamping the rules to make it happen. "From an overall player welfare standpoint, the length of the season, the maturity and development of guys," Swinney said. "I think guys would be much more engaged when they're redshirted. I don't see a negative at all. All the coaches love it."

One potential late-round tight end target the Steelers missed out on was Clemson's Jordan Leggett (5th round, Jets). The team had dinner with Leggett around the time of Clemson's pro day. The Steelers were selecting in the late fifth round, 173rd overall, while Leggett went 150th. The team took Utah cornerback Brian Allen.
